I've just had to upgrade the size of my VMs disk again and found out that it has become even easier to upgrade the size of your virtual disk. In between posts I have moved from VmWare Server to VmWare Player and there is now a handy setting in the Virtual Machine settings under the hard disk options. Simply click utilities and select expand.
Choose the new disk size that you want. Click Expand and wait for it to finish.
Unfortunately you will still have to follow the steps in my last post using GParted in order to get Windows to use the new disk space but thanks to VmWare you no longer have to use vmware-vdiskmanager in a command prompt in order to expand the disk. Thanks VmWare!
